The image says it all. While Athens burned, the arrogant rulers who have failed miserably to cope with the situation (to put it extremely minded), watched and fiddled.
And even the burning was the result of total political irresponsibility, since all those present concur that the orders of the riot police were to attack (with gases and clubs) the peaceful protesters in front of Parliament and never mind the looters or arsonists or anything else. The only thing that mattered was (and remains) the total intimidation of the Greek populace.
Oh, and a post scriptum. Athens was burning. The Greek nation was on tenterhooks over the outcome of this vote. A vote which in essence means either bankruptcy now, or bankruptcy in a couple of months under even worse conditions. In any case the death of a nation either today or in a couple of months. While all this drama and tragedy was under way, a large number of the MPs called upon to take this crucial decision, were not in the main hall listening to the arguments, but holed up in the canteen watching a basketball match.
